Usually solar inverters have three working modes, PV (battery) priority, mains priority and ECO mode. Which working mode can maximize the utilization of photovoltaic energy and meet customer requirements as much as possible. It certainly seems an appropriate subject of discuss.

How to choose the working modes of solar inverter?

1.Battery(solar) priority Mode
a)When the battery is fully charged, even the mains is normal, the load will be powered by the battery. When the battery is in low voltage and the mains is normal, the inverter will switch to the mains priority mode.
b)Load priority to use the energy provided by PV. When the PV power rate is less than the load, the deficiency will be made up by battery, so both PV and battery will power the loads.

Application area: This mode is used in areas with no electricity or with little electricity. Mains electricity is expensive and frequent power outages. It should be noted that the inverter will switch to the mains, when the battery power needs to be used to a low value. The advantage of this model is that it can make full use of solar energy. The disadvantage is that the user\'s electricity cannot be fully guaranteed. When the battery is in low voltage and the mains is abnormal, there is no electricity to use.If the user\'s demand for electricity is not particularly high, they can choose this mode.

2.Mains Priority Mode
When the mains is normal, the mains charge battery and the mains supplies stable power to the loads after stabilization. When the mains is abnormal, the loads will be powered by the battery.

Application area:This mode is used in places where the mains voltage is stable, the price is cheap, but the power supply time is short. The solar energy storage is equivalent to a backup UPS inverter. The advantage of this model is that the system can be equipped with fewer solar panels, and the initial investment is low. The disadvantage is that the photovoltaic energy waste is large, and it may not be used in a lot of time.

3.Inverter ECO Mode
Solar inverter works under the battery mode, once the load capacity is less than 10% of the inverter rated power, the inverter will start and stop regularly to achieve energy saving effect. When the load is greater than 10% of the inverter rated power, the inverter will out of this energy saving mode.

Application: Inverter eco mode can be selected when the power consumption is not too much.

We Xindunpower’s solar inverter have these three working modes. The user can choose the working modes according to the actual usage, so as to maximize the benefit of using the solar energy system.
