The inverter's overload protection is a built in safety protection function that prevents the inverter from being damaged when the connected load exceeds the rated output. Xindun's inverter provides complete protection functions.

What is Overload Protection for Inverter?

What is overload protection for inverter? Xindun hybrid inverter, which is very popular now, has received a lot of attention. Customers have raised many problems that may be encountered during use. Among them, one point that everyone is very concerned about is: Does the hybrid inverter have an overload protection function? Will the inverter be damaged due to long term overload?

inverter overload protection

Don't worry, the hybrid inverter has multiple protection functions, such as short circuit protection, overvoltage and undervoltage protection, overtemperature protection, and overload protection that everyone is concerned about.

If the inverter carries a large load, such as a 10kw inverter with 11kw load, and runs for a long time, the inverter components will overheat due to overload operation, or even melt, which is easy to trigger a fire. Therefore, the inverter will be equipped with overload protection. When the load power exceeds 2% of the inverter output power, the inverter will start the alarm sound for 10 seconds. If the situation has not improved, the inverter will automatically shut down.

Another question is, if the load is an inductive load, such as a water pump, large air conditioner and motor, etc. The load power is obviously smaller than the inverter, why is there still an overload warning? There are two situations here:

1.If the above inductive load is started by connecting the mains, the inverter can drive about 80% of its output power, because the inverter has a bypass output function, that is, when connected to the mains, the user can choose the mains output first, then the inductive load is directly connected to the mains, avoiding the problem of surge power impact.

2. If the above inductive load is started by simply connecting the battery, considering the existence of surge power, it is recommended that the hybrid inverter carry an inductive load of one quarter of its output power. For example, a 10kw inverter can start a 2.5kw inductive load when only the battery is connected; otherwise, the inverter will overload and start overload protection, and stop outputting power.

Xindun's hybrid inverter provides a complete protection mechanism for battery undervoltage, battery overclocking, overload power, short circuit, overtemperature, etc., to ensure that users can avoid failures during use. Our products undergo 4 quality inspections before delivery to provide customers with high quality products and stable power systems.
